‘Roid rage

Back in March, I mentioned I had started a second duel with midnightyell – the 6’5″ much-younger-than-me man from Texas.  This one was a “free-for-all”, the most Fitocracy points wins – every activity counts.  At that time, I held a somewhat comfortable lead of 9,223 to 7,743.  Things were going well, and I admit I was a tad smug knowing how many points I could rack up using barbell complexes.  Things appeared to be going my way this time around, unlike the push-up duel fiasco.

Then something very bad happened.  Well, bad for me.  Great for midnightyell.  Midnightyell apparently discovered strongman exercises like tire flipping and sled pushing.  These things are worth a LOT of points.  Also, I cannot do these things as I am little and not very strong.  I was in trouble.

I had my first session with my new personal trainer, Nick, this week. It was okay. He has a lot to learn.

We started by just sitting down and getting to know each other a little. I told him my whiny-ness level was at a 7 tonight (on a scale 1 to 10).  He seemed surprised I start my sessions this way.  I find it’s good to give my trainer an idea what they are in for before I land up throwing a tantrum in the middle of the gym, flailing my arms and whining “this is HARD!!!!”.  They should plan accordingly.

My personal trainer is breaking up with me.  The sadness I feel can only be compared to the disappointment when that guy you’ve been really excited about starts the conversation with “I don’t think I feel the same way about you….” This is a sorrow that can only be handled one way… with chocolate and whining.  Thus, I sit here drinking hot cocoa and blogging.

I’ve been disheartened by just how out-of-shape I am. I started exercising Sunday, and I chose my “easiest” exercise video. I used to dislike that one because it was “too easy”. It kicks my butt now. I did it on Sunday and Monday and thought I’d die.  

It doesn’t help that dear Rumpelmintz HATES for me to exercise.  I don’t know why, but she HATES it.  Perhaps it’s just because I’m not paying attention to her.  Sunday I started the video, and about half way through, Rumpelmintz bit the back of my head during floor exercises.  Ow!  I had to hold her for the rest of the video.  Monday night, she started to attack me – Kitty.com jumped to my defense, and they proceeded to fight on top of my head.  They stopped – then Rumpelmintz came up to bite my head – I fended her off, but got my arm bit.  She may need to go in “time out” when I exercise.

Exercising annoys me, as does most everything else.
