I’ve been in major “stash busting” mode – crocheting and knitting like a fiend, making a dent in the vast amount of yarn stored in “Yarnia”, a.k.a. “Yarntopia”… a room in my basement filled with bins of yarn.
I finished a crocheted cardigan in June:

I also finished crocheting a blanket I’d been working on since December:
Then I crocheted another large blanket:

I finally finished a knit scarf I was making for charity:

I crocheted a “scrappy-ghan” – a large blanket made with various yarns I had on hand. I enjoy scrappy projects – combining various yarns in a way I hope is interesting and pleasing, both color-wise and texturally.

Back in March, I made a scarf on commission:

Just the other day, I finished another blanket made with various Araucania Chacabuco and Yarntopia bulky cotton chenille I had in stash:

Last weekend was the annual bus trip to the Michigan (Allegan) fiber festival! I needed something quick and easy to work on while riding the bus. This scarf did the trick!

My niece Chelsea wanted another hat like the bird hat I made her – but a cat. This may be too large for her, we’ll see!

The fiber festival is always a fantastic time. The greatest aspect is spending time with good friends, but it doesn’t hurt that it’s spent admiring gorgeous yarns, fabulous patterns, and adorable fiber-bearing animals! I purchased a pattern, a magazine, some undyed cotton/linen yarn, and a skein of beautiful mulberry silk. The festival is always inspiring, and in addition to a shrug I’ve started I now have a shawl “on the hook”.
