Do I even lift? Why yes, yes I do – and I have proof!

Dumbbell bruise – I have matching ones on both arms, though the ones on my right arm are a bit bigger and darker than this
I’m still following the New Rules of Lifting for Women program. I’m on stage five at present. My deadlift record is 165 pounds, and I just broke my back barbell squat record today with 155 pounds. Let’s not talk about my press.
I joined a push-up challenge: 20,013 push-ups in 2013. I’m not optimistic I’ll accomplish 20,013 push-ups… or won’t die trying. But I figure if I do more push-ups than I would otherwise, it’s a win. My personal trainer is always encouraging me to do more push-ups. He demonstrates various forms of push-ups, traveling push-ups, inverted push-ups, etc., etc. I watch him in awe. It’s amazing what he can do. I’ll often suggest additional exercises for him to illustrate, based on what I’ve seen online and in movies and on TV.
After a while, he’ll want me to do some of these exercises. I just stare at him and say “but those are HARD”. I may do a few if I’m in a good mood. Usually I suggest that I do something I enjoy instead, like deadlifts. A few people have commented on my unusual “use” of a personal trainer. They ask me who is training who. I ask them who is PAYING who.
