I’ve been feeling under the weather lately. I even took several days off work. I get really grumpy when I don’t feel well. (I’m pretty crabby all the time, but it’s exacerbated when I’m sick.) I don’t think my illness is contagious, but my mood seemed to be. Everywhere I went, it seemed my crabbiness rubbed off on others.
One day I had to go to the post office to drop off some packages. A man was at the window next to mine paying rent for his mailbox. He finished and started to walk away, then turned and started SCREAMING at one of the postal employees. “She doesn’t know how to do her job! She said she was going to lock up my mailbox even though I paid my rent”, etc. etc. This went on for a while until another customer started screaming back. “SHUT THE #%@^ UP! I just want to finish my business so I can get back to my store.” This went on, back and forth, for some time.
Another day I had to run out to get some cat litter. The store was having a sale on Fancy Feast, so I decided to pick up a few cans. A woman had her cart directly in front of the Fancy Feast and was browsing the various flavors. It was a little inconsiderate, but I just waited. Another woman came along and just reached right in front of the first one to grab some cans she wanted, rapidly firing off an “excuse me” as she did so. She put the cans in her cart, then went back. She stuck her arm right in front of the first woman’s face again to grab some more cans, with another muttered “excuse me”. (It didn’t seem sincere in the least.) The first woman lost it.
“You’re not the only one trying to shop here!” the first woman barked.
The second woman started shouting back “You’re the one acting like you’re the only one here! I said excuse me!”
They continued to scream at each other. It was a really good sale on Fancy Feast, but REALLY? Can’t we all just show a little consideration?
Witnessing altercations like those does nothing to improve my mood, but I have to admit it may be better than watching daytime TV. I only have basic network channels, unless my Internet service is working well in which case I can stream some instant movies. I did watch one made-for-TV movie that was interesting. Apparently, both pancreatic cancer and arsenic poisoning have the same vague symptoms, and they resemble my own. I have a doctor appointment, so he can determine which one I have. Hopefully, the doctor doesn’t case my case of crabbiness.

Hi, Lynette,
Please feel better fast. From what you’ve described about the actions of others, it’s certainly not you who has a bad case of crabbiness! Good luck at the doctor’s.
Regards, Eileen
So what was it, crabbiness, pancreatic cancer, or arsenic poisoning? And you are NOT cranky. 🙂
Stupid barking women, I don’t like them!
And please get better soon Lynette, lots of vitaminC sometimes gives me the jolt that I need to get better a bit sooner!
Take care!
