I had high hopes for my new endeavor of crocheting and selling some scarves for the holidays – not to mention making scarves as gifts. I was able to make several beyond what I’d posted earlier.

Swirling Snowflakes at Dawn scarf
I had my mom send back the sweater I made her, and I remade it. It fits her much better now!

Greased Lightening - the remake!
Once the weather got colder, my fingerless mitts were NOT cutting it. I whipped out some ugly mittens out of scrap yarn one day over my lunch hour.

Ugliest mittens out of the planet - but warm!
I’m really pleased with how my next scarf turned out – it’s an amazing yarn (of which I could only afford one little hank) and I was happy I could make something worthy of it.

Nature Weave scarf
Mom wanted a new scarf to go with her pink and black coats.

Curls of Pearls scarf
My first (and second and third) attempts at broomstick lace. A gift for a friend…

Bamboo Beaded Broomstick Lace scarf
Another scarf for my mom – for her brown coat (or pink or black…)

Paint the Town scarf
A couple people had expressed interest in baby/child’s blankets… I made this one (but it hasn’t sold yet)

In the jungle, a lion sleeps tonight (as does an elephant, hippo and monkey!)
As a gag, I made a friend/coworker a lip balm cozy – warning! mature content! photo here
Well, I only managed to sell two scarves… (three if you count the one my mom bought, I don’t.) But the lip balm cozy was a huge hit. I had coworkers knocking at my door requesting them, specifying colors and sizes… I made and sold three more. Mature content! photo here!
I made a skinny scarf out of some yarn damaged in an attempt to make a garment gone wrong… but I like it and will wear it myself.

Skinny neapolitan flower scarf
I wanted to play with a stitch pattern I liked – and made the following scarf. It’s shorter than I normally like, but I do like the stitch.

Ocean Pearls scarf
Now that the holidays are over (as well as my dreams of selling lots of crochet) I hope to tackle some works-in-progress I’ve had going on for AGES.
Love the lipbalm cozy! ALL OF THEM! 🙂
Hi!!
Love the swirling snowflakes at dawn scarf!! What yarn did you use…??? Is that your own pattern or a published??
I love it!!
We can never have too many cats or crochet projects…
Thanks…
Love your blog.
Debbie
Thanks, Debbie!
For the swirling snowflakes at dawn (which I gifted to my lovely friend Terry, who is my bestest blog fan), I used Red Heart Ltd. Baby Clouds yarn in “Dawn” colorway.
I didn’t design that scarf myself, I used the “Swirling Fans scarf” pattern available free at:
Coats and Clark – Swirling Fan Scarf
[…] know you can make things out of yarn and request toys of some sort. I guess it started with the phallic lip balm cozies… and then donuts for a work gag… then toys for […]
