A friend recently adopted a kitten from a local rescue organization.  (Yay!  Adopt don’t buy!)  She’s been listening to my lectures on feline nutrition for years now, but checked in to make sure there wasn’t anything “else” she needed to know regarding feeding  a kitten.

In short, there isn’t.

All cats need high protein wet diets, including kittens.

Stash Bash 2

In a recent post, I admitted what an enormous amount of yarn I’ve accumulated.  I had taken pictures of my stash back in February – I must have at least two (maybe even three) times as much yarn now. It has its own room in the basement.

Stash busting

I confess – I’ve accumulated an ENORMOUS amount of yarn.  I had taken pictures of my stash back in February – I must have at least two (maybe even three) times as much yarn now.

Among the yarn I’ve collected – a large box of yarn my mother sent me when my aunt Esther B. went into assisted living.

Muddy waters

The past months have been hot, and humid… and it’s rained.  It’s rained a lot.  I won’t say I dislike rain.  (I will say I dislike heat and humidity.)  I actually enjoy those nice cool moist days that are drizzling. I do dislike torrential downpours, especially since some of that water usually shows up in my basement. Keep in mind, this isn’t clean water.  It’s not just that my basement is wet.  This is muddy rain water and everything is filthy.

My passport expired in June. No big deal, I don’t have any international travel planned. However, I like to have a passport  just in case. You never know when you may need (or want) to fly off to Australia or Europe or Asia on a moment’s notice. Okay, that generally doesn’t happen – at least not to me – but I still like to have a passport handy.
