My kind of town

Hi Ray!  I enjoyed reading about your trip to Chicago.  My dad has mentioned it. (I don’t think Chicago is HIS kind of town.)

People often ask if I like Chicago.  Well, I guess I do, since I’ve stayed here almost 20 years.  There are definite benefits to a larger city – the entertainment options, the public transportation, the job opportunities, and of course, the wide variety and number of yarn stores.

More yarn-y business

Yes, I am OBSESSIVE about my crochet.  I just enjoy it so much!  Here’s what I’ve cranked out since my last post:

I adopted Susan Huxley’s snug hug tank top pattern from her book, “Crocheted Sweaters: Simple Stitches, Great Designs” for a different yarn – and got this fun piece!

Power trip

I’m having electrical work done at the house. These electricians are amazing! I scheduled a free quote a few weeks ago, for upgrading the electrical panel and having the (very old) house rewired. The electrician was here two and a half hours! For a free quote! Talk about thorough!

Springing into Crochet

Swamped

I am SO busy at work! Most of us are. Due to the nature of our business (insurance software), we have a lot of additional work right now. We have a huge project in progress now. Originally I was assigned the same tasks as my coworkers – looking over insurance plan descriptions (in Japanese, which I can’t read – or write – or speak), setting them up in our software, and reviewing the results. I struggled with it. We all did.
