Bar none

My boyfriend is a Green Bay Packers fan.  He was raised and went to college in Wisconsin, and he’s stayed loyal to his “home” football team.  My dad is a bit of a Packers fan as well.  He grew up in Nebraska (with no professional football team) and when he lived in Wisconsin becoming a Packers fan was natural, I guess.

Living in Chicago, it may seem I would be a fan of the Chicago Bears.  I was when I first moved here, but for various reasons I had a “falling out” with the Bears and was a free agent when my boyfriend and I started dating.  So, influenced by my dad and boyfriend, I’ve become a Packers fan as well.

Recovered productivity

Ever have one of those days where you accomplish SO MUCH you can’t help but be amazed with yourself?  I LOVE those days!

I had one on a recent Saturday.  When I got together with my boyfriend that evening, he asked what I’d done all day.

Winter has definitely arrived in Chicago. If you couldn’t tell from the vast amount of snow and ice, and the FRIGID temperatures, there are two other obvious indicators: the “Caution! Falling Ice” signs on the sidewalk, and the lawn furniture parked in the street.

The new AAFP-AAHA feline life stage guidelines are published.

My initial thoughts, after a quick review:

I like that they recognize that the efficacy of dental treats/food is debatable.  One more “mark” against the myth that dry food benefits cats’ dental health! 

The use of dental treats and chews may be a realistic, practical alternative to daily tooth brushing, although data about their comparative efficacy is lacking.
