Hooker’s handiwork

September 16, 2009 by Lynette

I’m still crocheting… for the most part, it still serves as a relaxing hobby – except for those times I get super frustrated and want to throw the yarn and the work-in-progress and everything else out the window. Those are the times I need to take a deep breath, a big step back, and remember I took this up to RELAX. It doesn’t have to be perfect, or even GOOD. The finished object isn’t even particularly important – I needed something that allowed me to turn my brain off for a while and rather than try to save the world (or just one cat in it) do something selfish and “meditative” in a way.

Here are my finished objects for your viewing pleasure, or displeasure, or amusement:

I’ve got two projects in the works at the moment… I’ll try to post pictures more regularly, so I can bore you more often for shorter spurts of time. As you can see, my crochet skills leave a LOT to be desired!

I especially like the mulberry bolero and the psychedelic slippers. Wanna pair of psychedelic slippers! (Note to self: must learn to crochet. Note #2 to self: you tried, remember? You were useless). Very impressed with all these pieces! Ax

      Annette, the slippers were EASY!
I modified the pattern a bit to add the strap, but it’s a free pattern here:

Well they do *look* easy – but that’s probably to lull me into a false sense of security! Still, I do have the yarn and a crochet hook around somewhere, so maybe…
