Go Lintee Bean!

April 20, 2009 by Lynette

I previously posted my four goals for 2009, including:
“Fit into a regular (not women’s) size 14 – Lose 20 pounds by my niece’s wedding in July”

Well, it’s May April and I just bought two pairs of jeans this weekend in size EIGHT, and I’ve lost 29 pounds since January!

I love food, but I don’t love cooking.  I’ve found I can do well by mixing things up, while still keeping them easy.  Simple salads or “coleslaw” (raw cabbage with FF dressing), stir fried (in olive oil spray or 1 tsp oil) veggies, etc.

I’ve gotten a bit lax lately and need to get back on 100%.  I’m a firm believer that if I’m hungry, it’s better to just EAT than be unhappy and land up binging.  However, those extras are best done in fruits or veggies… and lately I’ve been adding extra dairy, which can add up to  more calories quickly.  Also, I’ve been taking more advantage of the “free foods”, but I need to watch that I keep it to two or three per day and not go crazy with them.

However, I’ve been doing this over three months now and still stumble upon new discoveries and the weight has been dropping off steadily and I’m NOT miserable – something I can’t say for the numerous other “diets” I’ve been on.  I truly hope this is a new way of life for me!

I’d like to lose another 15-20 pounds (I’m short and have tiny bones… I used to fit into size 4’s and 6’s and they’d sometimes be big on me – my sister and her daughers are all XS at best.)  I’m around 30% body fat now, and would like to be more around 25%.  I need to step up the exercise.  But if I don’t lose more weight, I’m not going to worry about it.  I have SO much more energy, feel so much better… I truly hope this is a new way of life for me!
