Oh my gosh! After correcting someone for the millionth time, that Hump-me is NOT a bear… and having my friend Adrienne note that he LOOKS like a bear… I looked at him… and… he’s NOT a tiger! He has no stripes! He’s a young lion!

Now I have to get used to calling him Hump-me the Lion. I hope I didn’t give him an identity crisis. He’s been incorrectly called a tiger and a bear… when he’s a lion. Maybe I need to get him a little hat or t-shirt that says “Hump-me the Lion”.
The complete story of Hump-me the (not Tiger but) Lion is here.

Update: Now I’m not sure again! I looked at him just now – and he does have stripes. They’re really light and worn (probably because he’s taken more than swim in my washing machine). So, maybe he IS a tiger. I don’t know anymore.
I found your story via ravelry and have laughed myself silly reading about “Hump-me the tiger/lion” NOT bear!
I’m a cat lover too so I really go a kick out of your story. I’m no longer able to have cats since I married a man who is allergic to them. I now go to friends houses and play with their cats. :0}
So, I have two thoughts/ suggestions regarding “Hump-me”: First, why not just call him Humphry now that he is retired from the worlds oldest profession! Secondly, it seems to me that in his “early years” Hump-me/Humphry would be anything his “clients” wanted him to be – fellow cat, tiger, tiger-bear or a lion! I’m sure this made him VERY popular during his career! LOL!

Hi Sandra! Thanks for posting.
Actually, the LYS (local yarn store) staff misunderstood me and thought his name was Humphrey, so we’ll just let them think that! 😉
