Fully outfitted

November 25, 2008 by Lynette

I’d written previously about how Louie ruptured an anal sac on September 29. He was isolated in the den, wearing a cone and using paper pellet litter, until October 31 while he healed. (His healing took longer than typical due to his FIV+ status.)

As you can see below, wearing a cone was incredibly TRAUMATIC for Louie.

I was pretty unsuccessful in applying warm compresses, as the vet recommended, due to Louie’s inability to SIT STILL. I attempted a compromise by putting a heating pad in a pillowcase and hoping he’d hang out there for a while each day.

Ah... isn't this toasty

Ah... isn

A friend and I hit a post-Halloween sale, and I found two doggie costumes I COULD NOT RESIST. Ralphie makes a really cute pirate!

Arrgghh... ya matey!

Arrgghh... ya matey!

Louie seems more annoyed being dressed as an adorable jack-o-lantern than wearing a plastic cone. He wasn’t really ANGRY (no hissing or swatting involved), but he definitely seemed annoyed.

I wanted to be the PIRATE.

I wanted to be the PIRATE.

Yeah, you’re right, I need a life… but how cute are they?
